It is wonderful to have our little ones take interest in our crafts....and want to give a try with their own creations...Sherry's grandchildren did just that this weekend...
Kendra is placing steel wool on her wet scarf getting ready for rusting..
Bryce spraying his wet scarf with vinegar to start the rusting process....
Nathan didn't care much for the smell of vinegar... if you click on his picture you can tell by his face...as he holds his scarf wrapped bottle.... giggles...But he liked the results when finished...enough he is going to give his scarf to his art teacher....I wonder would that be Debbie Crane or Tracy Isom....both are wonderful teachers...
Nathan also tried his hand at painting with the paint sticks and rubbing plates on a black silk scarf......Sherry is going to make a purse flap with this. Looking forward to seeing it...
The finished projects....Three happy grandchildren...A great weekend with Ma-maw....The Ol' Blogger

What a treasure and you can tell by their faces how proud the are. Good going Grandma, what memories you are creating.
We are a group of women of different personalities and ages who blend together to make for an interesting and fun group. Our group is dedicated to creating art using various textiles and other mediums. Our interests include sewing, knitting, quilting, doll making, purse making, felting, beading, jewelry making, stained glass, glass blowing, glass fusing, mosaics, and altered books. We share our ideas and our time, to create items that are unusual, traditional and fun. Our fun meter is more important than our gas meter. We fill it at least once a month during our monthly meeting where we have show and tell to show projects we've completed, talk about new projects and share ideas. And the food!! As textile artists we are such lucky people. We find pleasure in simple things; the colors of hand-dyed fabrics, a spool of lustrous thread—we almost hyperventilate when we go through the door of a bead store! How fortunate we are to have passion to create and to achieve such satisfaction in what we do.

What great fun!
Loved the "vinegar" face - it's right up there with the "sad" face by auntie!
Great memories for all!
