Happy Inside Out...

Social Benefits of Laughter: Laughter connects us with others...We have often discussed how we are always happy inside out when together...First thing that popped in my mind when I saw this picture was our Laughter...This is not a posed smile for a picture from Sherry.. but a spontaneous reaction to what was going on around her...For Laughter is contagious...Rhona captured this picture while on retreat at the farm...

No Piddling Rhona!

After returning home from a trip, Rhona only had a couple days till we were going to Judith's for a Christmas get together...She journeyed to Joann's and found a pattern, selected her fabric, came home, cut out, sewed this coat to wear for that night...She puts me to shame all she can get done in the time I waste piddling...it would take me the two days to make up mind what I wanted....I have forgotten the type of fabric, but the feel was wonderful....

The Elder

MJ beget (to bring into existence :0).. this doll for "The Elder" several years back...surprised her on one of our Chocolate nights...We all were in awe at the preciseness of Jody's characteristic that MJ had captured... with the books laying at her feet.. Jody loves books....a shopping bag with fabric, and supplies.. she has the dyed sorta red hair she wore at that time....even the hand made rose pin she is so famous for wearing...all the wonderful things that make Jody..our Jody...Lots of love and effort went into this classic one of a kind art doll... Jody loves this doll almost as much as we love her...The Ol'Blogger...

Memories,,,

Memories fill all are lives..."The Elder" has memories all over her house...~As one matures we do not remember days; we remember moments. ~ This little clothesline holds lots of moments...Jody's grand babies clothes...Really cute story...She had two grand boys and dreamed of a dainty little grand girl ...instead of a dainty little girl she got a rough tough Crack Shot in Petticoats, She likes to play dress up but is not the tippy toe quite kind...as the pink (wore out) socks of Audrey's hanging here remind us...When one walks by the laundry door it always brings a smile..

Safari..

Cross-stitch is a popular form of counted-thread embroidery in which X-shaped stitches in a tiled pattern are used to form a picture. Rhona made this gorgeous afghan which features animals from all over the world...Includes an elephant, monkey, tiger, kangaroo, polar bear, and more...for her daughter Amber.. Rhona has truly mastered this art...Every project she has done that I have seen are simple outstanding...The Ol'Blogger

Last of Our March Madness...

After our time with Jarad and family..we decided since Red Lobster was so close to Jarad's we would eat at "Red Lobster"....giggle...inside joke... as every restaurant was the same differences of distanced..I am the one who claimed it was closest...I wanted to eat there..it worked:0).. Kauri, Jarad's 7 year old, joined us for our outing...She was a perfect little lady the whole day..
* Our next stop was Shiisa Quilt Shoppe...Where fabric and supplies was purchased...They have a treasure chest of scraps which you are able to buy as much as you can stuff into the bags they have...Pictured are the girls helping Rhona and Kauri as they stuff their bags... You would think one of them would have picked out the holes from the Ol'Bloggers hair in the back...Pictures always shows every detail..
Kauri also purchased fabric for her first quilt which she is going to make for a new baby in her family...Will post pictures when finished..
Next we spent time at Jo Ann's finding needed treasures...before heading home...Fun was had by all...Kauri later told her Oma" Aunt Beebs and the girls wore me out...I only needed a little material for a tiny quilt...they bought lots of material..but they make 100's of quilts..Next monthly meeting April 10th at Rhona's...we didn't have a meeting plan for April as some of the girls will be going to Chicago for the quilt show...Where our winning SoTA Sisters quilt will be on display...but on the trip home Saturday....from the back of the van plans were made for Rhona's...couldn't stand the thought of all not being together again until May...giggle

How Does Her Mind Work....

Kathy's Show-N-Tell...."The Fisherman" she is creating for her brothers 60Th birthday...He is a captain of a tug boat...what a wonderful gift....

Kathy wastes nothing...you need to click and enlarge this picture to get the full effect...her watch had quit working...instead of getting rid of it...she opens it up takes out the insides and fills it with teeny tiny beads and creates a new bracelet...How does her mind work!!!! Now she can change the beads for each outfit she wears it with...

This was a part of her show-n-tell at Cindy's last month...I hadn't gotten to it..so I am add it here....She received little boxes with candies in it at work..so using that as a pattern she recreated this one...Sherry was very thankful..the perfect size for her Easter gifts...The Ol'Blogger

March Show-N-Tell

Starting Show-N-Tell with Sherry...the first item was the completed knife she is making for the lil men in her life for Easter...that would be her grandsons and great nephews.....six total...

Of course that means she needs something for the" lil ladies" so she designed these little boxes to hold the bracelets and necklace for granddaughters and great nieces she made them...

For the more grown up ladies she is making 16 of these silverware bracelets..Her Mom, Sisters and nieces.Taking a dermal with a cut off wheel to cut the silverware...then using a drill to drill the holes she needed..she placed them around a pipe she had purchased in the plumbing section at Lowe's...and beat it out with a rubber hammer...with jump rings and the closure on the back they were complete...Yes, we all want our own...so will be planning a bracelet work day soon...

Sherry beaded this bracelet with size 11 beads for herself...

I ask her what are you making the grown men for Easter...laughing she said "lunch and petifore cakes" We all know the way to a mans heart is through the stomach....The Ol'Blogger

Sunrise Sunset Cindy's April UFO

From the 2005 Timbleberries club came this pattern...Cindy machine pieced and quilted it all in the month of Jan 2010...and it was her UFO for Feb...2010
The back is just as magnificent as the front...with the houses and stars...among other things this was one of the projects Cindy worked on during the quilting retreat at the farmhouse in Jan...Those girls do accomplish a lot on these retreats amongst the laughter, chatter and food...It feels so good to complete a project that had been on the shelves waiting for so long...

Embroidery Kit

Jody got this pattern for Sherry sometime back...instead of working on her UFO...she sewed the embroidery book to hold her embroidery floss and supplies....if you enlarge you can see her beautiful embroidery on the outside front and back...

As you can see in the picture below it has all the compartment to keep all supplies handy for working on each project...
