Multi Talents

Would like to share some more of the multi talents of the SoTA Sisters..This is a stain glass window that Cindy made herself and it hangs in her kitchen.

I took these picture from Cindy's front room bay window...Yes, she is the one who did the tile work.
I love being a part of this group...Not only are they true artist..they have the same beauty inside for each other. Always willing to share their knowledge with each other. You girls are the greatest. Love you all...The Ol' Blogger

Welcome mat

First off I want tell you all these are french knots...not needle punch.
Kathy made this welcome rug for Rhona's doll house she is working on. Also made one for Cindy's doll house.....I read this somewhere and it speaks loudly about Kathy's work...." When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt". So lets just enlarge and listen. Tell me what you hear....

Hankie Pankie Blankie

Yes, its more than a cover,
Because he is her lover.
This much-treasured quilt,
Made for the life they have built.

Rhona made this manly quilt for her husband, Tony. I believe she told me she cut up something like 30 bandanna hankies and sewed them in triangles. The Ol' Blogger

Cindy's Sewing Room Finale

The sewing machine joins what the scissors have cut asunder, plus whatever else come in its path..... This is the first sewing area you see as you enter.

Sewing area two with the roller chair... and serger right behind. A wonderful place for stitching your stress away! It looks like Cindy got a sewing machine for Kent! Great trade huh? Oh, I am so bad....Truth is we wouldn't have what we have if it wasn't for the great men in our lives.

Memories are stitched with love. The Ol' Blogger

Cindy's Sewing Room Part 3

Be sure and click on pictures and take a closer look....I love the way her treasures are all on display in the sewing room..... Those she has made both at home and those on Chocolate Night..Also the ones that have been gifts. Notice the STUNNING beaded necklaces she has made.

*

More of Cindy's this an that....but notice the TV/VCR player and the music center... She can watch her favorite quilt tapes or movies as she works away. Or sew to the beat of "The Oldies" or the music from 'Momma Mia". Her sewing tables sit in front of this area of course, a perfect placement for the entertaining center. Will show her sewing machine area next posting.

Sewing Room Delicacy

While nosing about Cindy's sewing room....I saw this fabulous vest. She made this several years ago, all the pins are ones won for quilts she has entered in contest, and quilt shows she has attended....One talented woman!!!!!!!

Cindy's Sewing Room Part Two

Love these storage shelves for her fabric. Neat, eye catching, yes even soothing...Notice some of her treasures are displayed on top...No doubt as she leans back to rest her body from sewing...these will catch her eyes and stories of years gone by will dance in her head.
Forgive me the first picture is a blurred...but I am curious what is the story behind the shoe, Cindy? The Ol' Blogger
The wooden shoe was used by a cobbler for repair work. My cousin bought it somewhere (it had been decorated with flowers of all things) when she got tired of it - of course I had to latch on to it. The pack rat that I am.... so there you have "the story" C.

Cindy's Sewing Room Part One

* *
*************************************************************************************

Thanks to my daughter I can play with the computer a little...May take me a week to get a posting done...beats nothing...I am having blogging withdraw...giggle giggle

We all have different creative sewing spaces/rooms. I am going to be sharing our rooms and how we have solved the problems of stash storage, clutter management and having our own inspiring places to work. Truthfully in our sewing rooms we can take some clutter. But every little bit we have to stop and put everything back in place...to be dragged back out as we work later. giggle giggle
We are going to start our sewing room tours at Cindy T's. home. Ascending the stair to her studio on the left hangs a quilt. We believe is named "The School House".When I asked her about this she informed me she had made this over 25 years ago...This was one of her first quilts and this is what she called a cheaters quilt.... Still nourished my heart with its beauty.

Posed at the top in front of the chest of drawers...are the stuffed animals...which I am guessing most (if not all) she made...They seem to be calling out " welcome, this is where you can play".... Placed perfectly on top of this chest are sewing boxes and baskets for storing neat items. With lace, dollies, buttons, peeking out....patterns and sewing books neatly laying there....all enticing one to touch.... The Ol' Blogger ....Date of Posting 2-9
