Happy, Happy, Happy...that describes the atmosphere Saturday when the girls met at The Elders to divide our winnings from the Hoffman Challenge... Ready Set Go....let the fun begin....
Kathy preparing a piece of fabric for separation...Notice the discharged shirt she has on..Nice.... Neat bundles for the six of us...Kathy has challenged us to all use a small piece of our winning fabric with next years Hoffman Challenge Fabric, with each enter our own exhibit...its a thought....Would be taking most of us too another level with our quilting...Outside our comfort level of having each other to work with....The Ol'Blogger
We are a group of women of different personalities and ages who blend together to make for an interesting and fun group. Our group is dedicated to creating art using various textiles and other mediums. Our interests include sewing, knitting, quilting, doll making, purse making, felting, beading, jewelry making, stained glass, glass blowing, glass fusing, mosaics, and altered books. We share our ideas and our time, to create items that are unusual, traditional and fun. Our fun meter is more important than our gas meter. We fill it at least once a month during our monthly meeting where we have show and tell to show projects we've completed, talk about new projects and share ideas. And the food!! As textile artists we are such lucky people. We find pleasure in simple things; the colors of hand-dyed fabrics, a spool of lustrous thread—we almost hyperventilate when we go through the door of a bead store! How fortunate we are to have passion to create and to achieve such satisfaction in what we do.
