It's 11:00 - do you know where your Grandma is?

Brown County 2009

Some of the SoTAs were able to attend the 2009 Brown County retreat. Jody, Sherry and Rhona had a very productive 4 days and nights of uninterrupted stitching time.

Our home away from home for the retreat.

Jody working on Audry's pink and chocolate quilt.
Sherry stitching around the applique on her Celetial Dreams quilt.

Rhona pieced her Houston shop hop quilt.

Much more was done, but what happens in Brown County, stays in Brown County.

Sew long

* Who wouldn't want a sewing room like this. We've got Grandma's old treadle sewing machine all set up and ready to go. Or we could make a dress using our dummy. We've also got a little Featherweight on another table with a selection of quilt patterns. What to do, what to do.....

Sew long - we're going to go sew now!

Come Play With Me..

All our work is done and now it's time to play. The playroom adjoins the sewing room on the top floor of the house. We have teddy bears and trains and a multitude of other things!

Look at the tiny little furniture and the dollhouse for the dollhouse. We can play school. I get to be the teacher!
Makes me want to be a little girl again.

Send me to my bedroom...please

Today we resume our tour of Cindy's dollhouse. This beautiful chest of drawers is part of the furniture in the child's bedroom. Did you notice the picture frame on the dresser?
Next we have a nightstand holding a Tiffany lamp and a Bible. Next to that a cuckoo clock tells the little girl when it's time to go to bed. What little girl would not want to play and sleep in this comfy cozy bedroom.
Our tour now takes us to the master bedroom. This lovely room is furnished with a beautiful sleigh bed. In the corner we can also see a nightstand with a small table lamp, as well as a wardrobe. On the dresser is a hat stand and hat. Notice the shoes in front of the dresser. This room makes me want to kick of my shoes and make myself right at home also!
Cindy has decorated this and all the rooms with stucco ceilings. Additionally the entire house is wired and when it is lit up it just welcomes you right in.

Hall/Bathroom

Today we'll continue with our tour of Cindy's dollhouse.

Here we have the staircase from the first floor to the second. Notice the detail of the handrail and the posts, as well as the arrangement of pictures on the wall.

* This is the hallway leading into the master bedroom. A beautiful potted plant leads you right in.

This lovely cabinet and miniature Christmas tree are located in the third floor playroom

Here we have the bathroom. Wouldn't you just love to fill the tub with bubbles and take a long luxurious bubble bath!

It's hard to believe that these rooms and furnishes are miniatures.

Good Day Gone Bad

Two of our SoTA Sisters, Snowflake and Raindrop, were having a day out last Friday. They had gone to Columbus and on the way home, got rear-ended by a semi. Thank God, they were not seriously injured. Randrop has a cracked vertabrae and will be wearing a halo for the next 3 months. Snowflake was shook up and is very sore. Pictures have been promised.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you both as you mend.

Kitchen Charm

*

*************************************************************************************
"The kitchen is a country in which there are always discoveries to be made". When you look close you will find lots of neat arrangements in Cindy's dollhouse kitchen. Although I didn't get a picture of it....Cindy P. took the slice bread and placed them in the toaster. Yes, we were playing house when Cindy T. wasn't looking. All this kitchen lacks is replicates of the SoTA Sisters. Hey another project.....The Ol' Blogger
