At one time Rhona had a co worker Teresa , whose mother had gone home to Heaven. When Teresa was cleaning out her mother's stuff, she gave Rhona boxes and bags of her treasures..Among them were pieced Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks, made mostly from 1930's and 40's fabrics.. Rhona hand pieced the blocks to the "path" and then machine quilted the above quilt. Now the pieces the Grandmother had so lovingly cut and sewed together are complete...Thanks to Teresa and Rhona..a cheer went up in the quilting section in Heaven...
We are a group of women of different personalities and ages who blend together to make for an interesting and fun group. Our group is dedicated to creating art using various textiles and other mediums. Our interests include sewing, knitting, quilting, doll making, purse making, felting, beading, jewelry making, stained glass, glass blowing, glass fusing, mosaics, and altered books. We share our ideas and our time, to create items that are unusual, traditional and fun. Our fun meter is more important than our gas meter. We fill it at least once a month during our monthly meeting where we have show and tell to show projects we've completed, talk about new projects and share ideas. And the food!! As textile artists we are such lucky people. We find pleasure in simple things; the colors of hand-dyed fabrics, a spool of lustrous thread—we almost hyperventilate when we go through the door of a bead store! How fortunate we are to have passion to create and to achieve such satisfaction in what we do.
