I started this purse before the wreck and I have finally finished it tonight.... I like the interchangeable, reversible decorative flaps...This pattern is from "The Creative Thimble". For my first flap I use "May Basket" applique..by Betty Alderman. Some of the quilting I did with Sulky Shimmer thread....To add an extra zing.... On the front and back are zippered pockets...I love the pockets on the sides of this purse also..perfect for cell phone and eye glasses....makes them handy....Plus the pockets inside...Room for lots of STUFF... Hey girl, glad to see you posting your own work for a change. Love you, the Elder
We are a group of women of different personalities and ages who blend together to make for an interesting and fun group. Our group is dedicated to creating art using various textiles and other mediums. Our interests include sewing, knitting, quilting, doll making, purse making, felting, beading, jewelry making, stained glass, glass blowing, glass fusing, mosaics, and altered books. We share our ideas and our time, to create items that are unusual, traditional and fun. Our fun meter is more important than our gas meter. We fill it at least once a month during our monthly meeting where we have show and tell to show projects we've completed, talk about new projects and share ideas. And the food!! As textile artists we are such lucky people. We find pleasure in simple things; the colors of hand-dyed fabrics, a spool of lustrous thread—we almost hyperventilate when we go through the door of a bead store! How fortunate we are to have passion to create and to achieve such satisfaction in what we do.
