Last winter my daughter, Geri, saw this pattern and decided I could make her a scarf like this....The fact I didn't know how to knit didn't seem to faze her...She drug in a round loom for me to make them....I made a few and they weren't what she wanted...So next she brings me knitting needles and says Mom you can do it....By checking "how to" on the Internet I learned....Which those video's are right up there with the invention of sliced bread in my book...:0) I finished this pink scarf for my granddaughter, Mikala, this week...Not sure how many of these I have made...my daughter, Geri, keeps bringing me yarn...says she wants to learn...so far it is just me knitting away with her yarn....The Ol' Blogger
We are a group of women of different personalities and ages who blend together to make for an interesting and fun group. Our group is dedicated to creating art using various textiles and other mediums. Our interests include sewing, knitting, quilting, doll making, purse making, felting, beading, jewelry making, stained glass, glass blowing, glass fusing, mosaics, and altered books. We share our ideas and our time, to create items that are unusual, traditional and fun. Our fun meter is more important than our gas meter. We fill it at least once a month during our monthly meeting where we have show and tell to show projects we've completed, talk about new projects and share ideas. And the food!! As textile artists we are such lucky people. We find pleasure in simple things; the colors of hand-dyed fabrics, a spool of lustrous thread—we almost hyperventilate when we go through the door of a bead store! How fortunate we are to have passion to create and to achieve such satisfaction in what we do.
