Judith, a friend of our group, decided to try her hand at a new craft...With lots of encouragement from the SoTA Sisters she set out to do just that... With her list of supplies....shopping she went...Back at home with her red loom and ribbon yarn and with instruction and suggestion of different web sites to check out...Her mind dancing with thoughts of a beautiful scarf ... She wrapped and lifted the ribbon yarn as she had seen in the video. Time flew....Lo and Behold from her new toys she found not a scarf but a marvelous hat had emerged...And as you can see in the picture above it fits her granddaughter Julia perfectly.....Truly a beauty wearing a beauty...We are very proud of you Judith and what and adorable model... Be sure and enlarge to see the ribbon yarn up close...Looking forward to your next creation....Will it be a scarf ?
We are a group of women of different personalities and ages who blend together to make for an interesting and fun group. Our group is dedicated to creating art using various textiles and other mediums. Our interests include sewing, knitting, quilting, doll making, purse making, felting, beading, jewelry making, stained glass, glass blowing, glass fusing, mosaics, and altered books. We share our ideas and our time, to create items that are unusual, traditional and fun. Our fun meter is more important than our gas meter. We fill it at least once a month during our monthly meeting where we have show and tell to show projects we've completed, talk about new projects and share ideas. And the food!! As textile artists we are such lucky people. We find pleasure in simple things; the colors of hand-dyed fabrics, a spool of lustrous thread—we almost hyperventilate when we go through the door of a bead store! How fortunate we are to have passion to create and to achieve such satisfaction in what we do.
